In the year 2007 to 2008, I went on tour with Natasha Bedingfield, who penned the huge hit 'Unwritten'. We were the support act for Justin Timberlake's Future Sex/Love Sounds Tour in Europe. It was six weeks on the road, travelling from city to city and country to country.

I remember the stage we sang and played on - it was huge. I was told it was the same stage that Prince used; bright white and with stairs that took you down to different levels. There were holes in the center of the stage where dancers and Justin himself would spring up from, and things would rotate. It was really high tech and amazing.

I remember being on that stage; loving it but also feeling quite unprepared because of the vastness of it. I had to take up space, I had to be seen, I had to exaggerate my moves. The band was well rehearsed but still, I somehow felt like I wasn't enough and that I wouldn't do a good job. I had had this feeling a number of times in my career. But I had to make it work, make it sound good and make sure that I gave my best.

Even though I could use talent and adrenaline to sound good, lately, I have stopped wanting to be on the edge.

Yes, I can do a live stream with just one sentence of a topic and one sentence of content and turn it into 30 minutes 40 minutes of riveting content that people tune into and are benefited by. There's a part of my personality that enjoys the unknown and seeing where that takes me, even if I fall flat on my face in public. However, I've stopped wanting to live on the edge all the time and I started wanting to be in a space of safety and relaxation instead.

On camera and in business I focus on the fundamentals of diet and rest that give me deep comfort. I started to sleep better, giving myself the space to have naps and I get these sparks of creativity and that is what matters to me.
